Reflecting on 2025: Growth, Gratitude & Looking Ahead to a New Year of Beautiful Moments

As 2025 comes to a close, it’s hard not to pause and reflect on a year that truly had its ups and downs for all of us. This year challenged us in ways we didn’t always expect—but challenges have a way of revealing something powerful. They show us who we are, what truly matters, and sometimes, just as importantly, what we can finally let go of.

Through it all, I was reminded again and again that life’s most meaningful moments are often found in the in-between—the quiet glances, the deep belly laughs, the tears of joy, the hugs that linger just a little longer. And capturing those moments is what I love most about my work as a North Carolina wedding and family portrait photographer.

A New Year, A Fresh Chapter & Countless Smiles Ahead

As we step into a new year, I’m filled with excitement for all the smiles, stories, and celebrations yet to come. From Outer Banks beach family photos to North Carolina weddings, intimate elopements, and destination weddings beyond NC, the year ahead is already brimming with possibility.

There’s something incredibly special about photographing families while they’re on vacation at the beach—barefoot kids, salty hair, genuine laughter, and memories being made far from everyday routines. Those sessions are relaxed, joyful, and timeless, and they tell a story families will treasure for generations. They always hold a special place in my heart as I am reminded of my own family and the places we visited when we were young.

And then there are weddings—the heartfelt vows, the nervous anticipation, the emotional first looks, and the unforgettable celebrations. Whether close to home or traveling for a destination wedding, I’m endlessly grateful to document love stories in a way that feels authentic, elegant, and true to each couple.
